Thankful Thursday--Rain

I am so thankful for rain. I am writing this a day early, Wednesday, and we have had rain all day long at varying levels of intensity. Sometimes it has been a light steady rain and other times it has been a heavy rain with those big raindrops. I am so thankful for this rain because I know it is such a precious commodity. Just north of us in our very own state (GA) is a SEVERE drought. Our Governor is even asking the President for many of the northern counties to be declared a disaster area because they have only a month or two of drinking water left...maybe even less than that. And then there are the terrible fires out in California. Such terrible situations that could so easily be fixed with something as simple as rain and my little town is being covered in it. I would package up some of this rain if I could and send it to those who need it more if I could.

Thank you, Lord for the rain but I pray that you give the rain to those who so desperately need it.

Thankful Thursday

I have to say that Chris and I are so blessed lately in the freezer department. The combination of Angel Food Ministries and the generosity of Chris' Mom has completely filled our freezer. Chris and I know that the first of couple of months of his new career might be a bit lean but the Lord has provided. We will NOT go hungry. That's for sure. Our freezer has NEVER been so full.

I included this picture to give you some perspective. Our freezer is fairly deep.

I wish I could show you everything that is underneath.

THE LORD IS AWESOME!!!

Thankful Thursday

After Chris' week off from work and working at his new job for almost a week I am so thankful for so much. Here are just a few:

1) Chris' "Vacation At Home"--It sure was nice having him around so much.

2) That Chris was able to relax so much and prepare himself for his new career.

3) How much playtime Chris and Caleb enjoyed.

4) Chris' generous partner.

5) For our trip to visit my sister for the weekend.

6) That Eowyn decided to come after after all.

7) My Mother-in-law's generosity in babysitting Caleb for 24 hours so Mommy and Daddy could have a great date.

8) Being able to exercise with Chris at the YMCA everyday he was home.

9) Chris' excitement for his new job.

10) Chris' peace about making this change.

Last week was beyond wonderful. Chris was home just enough that we started thinking that was normal. Now he is back at work and I miss him. But, I see more pep in his step when he comes home and that makes all worth it. Thank you, Lord!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am home without a car because my car is getting serviced. When Chris gets home we will go pick it up and everything will back to normal. On days like this I am reminded of a few things that I am thankful for.

1) I am thankful that we have two paid-for cars.

2) I am thankful for days without my car so that I can appreciate my car that much more.

3) I am thankful for days at home because I get so much done around the house and so much playtime with Caleb.

4) I am thankful I have such a hard-working husband who allows me to stay home with our son.

5) I am thankful for these slower days because I can have an extra long, in depth devotional time.

6) I am thankful for all the faithful ladies in the blogosphere who make this big world feel a lot smaller.

Thankful Thursday

This is the first time I will be participating in Thankful Thursday. I found this lovely meme over at The Preacher's Wife and I followed the link on over to Sting My Heart, the hostess of Thankful Thursday. I am excited about participating each week and I know it will be a wonderful asset to my spiritual walk. Let's get started.

Here are a few things for which I am thankful:

1) His Radio and their On-Line All Praise Station (See this previous post). I am listening to it right now. :-)

2) Fourth of July and all that it stands for. Thank you to all our soldiers past and present.

3) Caleb's 1st Birthday

4) All the friends and family coming into town for Caleb's party on Saturday. The list is at 25 people. I never imagined that many people would want to spend their Saturday evening at our little boy's party. We are so loved and blessed.

5) Being able to spend time with other wonderful women on-line who challenge my thinking and faith. I am just now realizing all the resources that are out there.
